At Air Liquide Canada, we are committed to the communities in which we operate.
Every year, we reaffirm our social engagement by supporting causes like United Way/Centraide and other various causes.
Our employees regularly volunteer, fundraise and organize for local and national organizations, and we also support these individual/team-based initiatives including, in some cases, matching donations. Here are some recent examples.
AL For Fort Mac
In 2016, our employees and suppliers organized a national fundraising campaign to support our Fort McMurray employees who dealt with a devastating wildfire for weeks. Air Liquide Canada matched all employee donations. Through this campaign, over $83,400 was raised and redistributed to the Canadian Red Cross, the community and our Fort McMurray employees to help them gradually recover and rebuild their lives after the wildfires.
Generosity is in the air
Through a combined United Way/Centraide and HealthPartners Canada campaign, Air Liquide Canada employees donations and the Company’s contribution to these charitable organizations totalled $100,672 in 2017. This was our way to support members of communities where we operate who might be dealing with social, personal, health and other type of issues.
Ride for Diabetes Research
Colleagues from coast-to-coast organized on site “ride” events and took part in larger local events organized in 2014 by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. This very engaging, high-energy campaign raised over $40,000, including employees and company donations.
With a budget of nearly €3 million over five years, the Air Liquide Foundation allocates financial resources, equipment and people to the projects it supports. This way, the Air Liquide Foundation allocates grants of €8,000 for selected local development micro-initiatives and €50,000, for scientific research projects.
